Great Lakes Horse Sports/ Michigan Horse Sports
Our regional online website covers the Great Lakes area professionals and amateurs in various horse sports,
addresses state and county political issues, introduces locally created
products, and provides regional sports coverage on a feature
basis.
Currently there is no existing network for horse people within our region. We need a spot where we can share views and opportunities. We are really excited about the communication this site offers all of us.
The site’s reach is north to Toronto, south to Lexington, west to Chicago, and east to Pittsburgh. While updated daily, the basic turnover structure is monthly. Our first issue offers interviews with horse experts and entrepreneurs from Chelsea, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Milford, southern Ontario and other areas.
Topics covered regularly are:
sports of eventing, dresage, h/j, polo foxhunting, racing, skills at arms such as cavalry; profiles of regional professonals and amateurs; veterinarian advice from regional DVMs; state and local politics related to the horse industry; competition and recreational travel; regonal breeding programs; land and water use issues; locally created products; young rider blog.
The staff offers over 40 years experience in
equestrian journalism, internet technology and horse
involvement. We are also looking for interns with a horse
background and proven skills in writing, editing, photography,
videography and internet management. If you have these skills and
ride in the Michigan area, we want you to help us create a presence
that both stimulates and serves our community.
